Region The Arusha Natural Park covers 137 km² and is located in the heart of the Arusha region. It brings together three areas : the site of Mount Meru, 4,566 meters high, the crater Ngurdoto (a caldera 3 km in diameter) and the lakes of Momella, known to host important species of birds.
Climbing Mount Meru :
Arusha Park is the starting point for many hikers who wish to conquer the summit of Mount Meru and its 3000 meters of elevation. It overlooks the city of Arusha and also bears the name of Black mountain or Ol Doinyo Orok. Mount Meru is an island of lush vegetation where many wild animals find refuge (giraffes, zebras, colobus monkeys …).
Ngurdoto crater :
Enchanting place from where you can observe lions, rhinos, hyenas, elephants … Guaranteed timeless moments.
Momella lakes :
The area of the lakes of Momella is famous for the countless species of birds which delight bird watchers such as the pelican, the ibis or the trogons. Canoe safaris are organized to discover this fauna over the water.
